Random thoughts
Despite being on TWO different anxiety meds, my anxiety is out of control this week. I didn't go to bed until 11:30 last night, and woke up promptly at 4:00 worrying about renting out my condo in MN again, and worry that my car won't sell. So I'm sure the whining is in part to getting a total of 5 hours of sleep last night.
It is the second day of autumn here in texas and while I've seen so many posts about kissing summer goodbye, we were at a balmy 90 something degrees today. (note the sarcasm, I've had about all the 90 something degree weather I care for, for a while at least) I knew fall would be the hardest on my. I truely have enjoyed the summer and all this heat, but I'm just getting tired of it now.
And I'd just like to give a big F you to professor boring who won't let me take my midterm early.. I want to take it EARLY... I have two midterms in two days a Monday and a Tuesday and have a previous commitment to go to a wedding in Ohio the wedding the preceeding weekend. And to top it all off, it's the week of my birthday, so guess what I'll be doing on my birthday... study for two midterms I have the following week b/c I won't have any time to do it over the weekend.
And lastly, I have not let the weather stop me from making fall like meals and treat. I just took some banana bread out of the oven and now am roasting in my house b/c it's still too hot to have the oven on. At least I get to have banana bread I guess.
I promise to be in a better mood tomorrow.

Spaghetti Disasters
Good thing it was on sale I guess.
I think I'm sticking to Ragu with mushroom from now on. I guess when your looking for comfort food, better to stick with what you know.

Dog days
Right now she is trying to bury her bone into the couch cushions because I wouldn't let her take it outside. Oh wait she just gave up on the couch and is now sneaking into the other room to attempt the love seat......
Gotta Go.......

Letter to the Editor
I would like you to know that you have THOROUGHLY messed up my weekend. I was supposed to have a yard sale this weekend, but Noooo you decided you would come through with your 40-50 mile an hour winds and your torrential downpours 4 HOURS in from the coast.
So if you wouldn't mind, I would like it very much if you just decided to change course and head back out to see. Where you can do all the swirling, and wind gusting that you want. I would really really appropriate that.
Ok thanks bye.... oh and don't let the door hit ya where the lord split ya on your way out!
Your friend,
Becca

Is that an Otter? No...
We keep the leash on her because we're scared she'll chase the ducks and get tired and not be able to get back.
She couldn't wait to get in.
Sidenote: Lucy the otters owner got in trouble at the vet last week due to bad behavior by the otter. Needless to say I was mortified..... so in all seriousness, has anyone in the area had any trainers that they have been particularly happy with?

Delectible Delights
I originally got the recipe from a blog called Two Novice Chefs, One Tiny Kitchen. It is delicious and we have made it several times.
Gnocchi with Sausage and Spinach (adapted from Real Simple)
2 9-ounce packages refrigerated gnocchi or one 17.5-ounce package shelf-stable gnocchi
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
1 pound Italian sausage, casings removed (I used Italian turkey sausage)
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1 5-ounce bag baby spinach
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
3/4 cup (3 ounces) grated Parmesan, plus more for garnishing
Cook the gnocchi according to the package directions, reserving 1/4 cup of the cooking liquid.
Meanwhile, heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the sausage and cook, crumbling it with a spoon, until browned, 5 to 7 minutes. Add the garlic, spinach, salt, and pepper and cook, tossing frequently, until the spinach wilts, about 3 minutes. Add the drained gnocchi, the reserved cooking liquid, and the Parmesan and toss. Divide among individual bowls and sprinkle with additional Parmesan.

These things don't happen on a Desktop
While I was at the coffee shop last week excitedly typing my first blog entry from my new laptop. Someone may have sniffed my computer and gotten my hotmail info.
Same thing, but when I signed in during class at school. Yes, just this once I was doing personal e-mail, while in class. We didn't have wireless internet when I went to school the first time.
As I said in my title, these things don't happen on a desktop because you can't just pick it up and carry it to the coffee shop.
Rest assured, I have taken the necessary precautions to ensure this kind of thing doesn't happen again.
The third possibility, and the one I like the best is that the desktop I was working on at school for my job was infected with a worm, and it stole my info. And it wasn't my brand new shiny laptops fault at all....

Writer's Wednesday
This weeks assignment is to write about the last three people you e-mailed and why.
Number one, my friend Mary. Just to catch up and tell her I think she's doing an awesome job.
Number two, one of my sisters. She wanted to know what kind of a laptop I got. I told her it was a Dell. She wants more details.
Number three my other sister to wish her a happy birthday.
