10k completion!

Last Saturday I completed the 10k I was training for. My official time was one hour and two minutes. I am pretty happy with that time. Of course if I had know I would end up being that close to an hour, I would have tried to pick up the pace just a little all the way through to get under an hour.

It was a freezing cold super windy day, and I more than once thought to myself, if it wasn't race day, there is no way I would be out here running. As always, my experience with races like this was positive. It is just fun to be around a whole bunch of people who all have the same goal that you do.

On Monday I started training for a half marathon. I am not going to be about to run the full Grandma's marathon in Duluth as I had originally planned. I am able to take a summer class, and unfortunately graduation trumps marathon.

So instead, I will be running in the heels and hills half marathon in May, and will most likely give the marathon an attempt either next year at the Cowtown, or sometime this fall. I know there is one in Dallas as well as one in San Antonio.

I'll keep ya'll posted on how everything progresses.

good work! and I think your decision to wait on the marathon is good.... graduation is priority and a half marathon is no small accomplishment.

Ok first of all anyone who runs 10K deserves some kind of medal...take a break. Graduate. Take it easy. :)

Secondly I tried to email this to you, but it bounced back to me...

My all time FAVORITE book ever ever EVER is called For Those I Loved.

It's a
true story about one man's experience in the Holocaust, so to say it's a
tearjerker is an understatement.

But I firmly believe it should be in ALL
the schools. I want the whole world to read that book. :)

I think I was at 70 minutes.

The whole event is a lot of fun.
