This morning, Jake and I were unloading the dishwasher before we went to work. He had bent down to put the pots and pans away, and I had some silverware in my hands. The silverware drawer is directly above where Jake was bent over...I did that thing, that we all do, I thought I was quick enough that I could put the silverware away and get the drawer closed before he stood up... I was quick enough... He tried to stand up and hit is back on the silverware drawer, which of course, led to him shouting in pain, and me feeling bad for not waiting... Now I know I'm not the only one who does this, and Jake has done it to me, but WHY DO WE DO THIS?? Are we in such a hurry in our lives, that we can't just wait for the other person to finish, are we all just that naive that we think it won't happen this time? Do we ever get away with it, and we're classically conditioned to keep trying to get that reward?? What up with dat?
